Frank Farthing Grant

Intended purpose: to improve or enhance safety and/or safety education for the students and staff of Mattawan Consolidated School. Funding will support projects or activities that fall into the following general categories:

– Safety training for students, employees, or volunteers.

– Safety equipment or hardware in or on buildings, structures, school grounds or transportation equipment.

– Training activities, materials, or equipment (print, audio, video, multimedia) pertaining to the establishment or maintenance of a safe educational environment.

James A. Weeldreyer Grant

Intended purpose: to fund learning experiences that help students build character and foster positive connections and relationships within their school, community, and today’s global world. Examples consistent with intent:

– Activities or opportunities for students that they otherwise would not experience: lectures, plays, workshops, discussions, films, field trips, team-building sessions, multi-cultural experiences, volunteer projects, environmental initiatives, etc.

Warjenfeldt/Shreve Grant: Special Education

Intended purpose: to provide an annual grant of to the Office of Special Programs of the Mattawan Consolidated School as consistent with current MPEF board spending policy. The grant will support projects or activities that fall into the following general categories:

– Equipment, classroom materials, or guest speakers required to provide additional instruction or activities not considered to be part of the normal budgetary items of the Office of Special Programs and the associated classrooms thereof.

– Professional development of any of the Special Programs teachers or staff.
